Join The Village Players

English-Speaking Theatre of Lausanne

The main purpose of this friendly and informal group is to produce dramatic works in English, but also to provide access to other English-language are forms such as poetry, verse, song, musical comedy, etc. Workshops are part of the group's interests with courses on lighting, acting, directing, make-up, and other aspects of theatre.

Anyone can join the Village Players, whether of English mother tongue or not, and whether wishing to act or not.

Members have the opportunity to create -- whether it be a role, a set, a play, a sketch, or a special effect, and thus are able to pursue a hobby which is literally fantastic. The Village Players have their own clubhouse, complete with stage, lights, costumes, properties, and technical equipment at Chalet-a-Gobet on the outskirts of Lausanne, and so potential members need only provide their own talent.

As a SUPPORTER you can perform and participate in all our internal events and be active in the organisation of the events and public productions. You will be equally welcome if you just wish to be a part of it as a spectator at events.

As a FULL MEMBER (including Students and Senior Citizens) you can do exactly the same - with two important additions. Only Full Members can appear on the stage in our public productions and have the right to constitute the quorum and vote in the AGM.

To join the Village Players use the form below or send an email to Membership Secretary Jo Greaney by clicking here. Please note that only those over the age of 16 can become Members of The Village Players, although we do welcome younger people to participate in our productions when parts are available.

Subscriptions are
Full Members: 85 CHF, Supporters: 60 CHF, Students (16+) and Senior Citizens (65+): 30 CHF.
